What to Expect for New Patients
![]() |
This visit will include some final paperwork to complete your chart followed by a consultation with the doctor where they will obtain a thorough history. Then they will perform a spinal exam to verify that chiropractic may be of help to the condition(s) discussed during the history consultation. Following that initial exam, a more detailed exam may be performed that may include chiropractic, orthopedic, neurological, or other tests, including x-rays or advanced imaging (such as a CT scan or MRI).
After the examinations the doctor will make a few initial recommendations to you, which may include therapy to reduce your pain levels or inflammation, home-care advice (like the use of ice or heat application, over-the-counter medications, or supplement therapy), or an adjustment to reduce irritation around the area of problem.
After completion of any initial treatment/therapy, a report visit will be scheduled to discuss your examination findings, including any outside testing that may have been ordered. Please allow about 60 minutes for each of these first two visits.
Report Visit
On the second visit, the doctor will explain your test results from the initial visit, plus any outside tests that were ordered. They will then discuss with you, options for the care necessary to guide your body into the healing process, and answer any questions that you may have. After a plan of action has been agreed on, treatment will usually begin on this visit.
